The Passing was the second and last release for Betrayal until Marcus Colon re-emerged with the name as a solo project in 2000. It's similar in style and focus to their debut, i.e. a full band playing 90s thrash/speed metal. Once again produced by Caesar Kalinowski, and released on Wonderland in 1993, hard music fans loved it. Musically, The Passing shows progression and variety from Renaissance By Death, spicing the industrial/hardcore delivery with jazzy interludes, speed-note riffs, and occasional melodious passages. It also dealt with a broader range of issues, most notably racism, and reacted negatively to the perceived unrighteousness of Bill Clinton's presidency. Songs include: 'Renuncement,' 'The Usurper,' 'Carnival Of Madness,' 'Ichabod,' 'Forest Of Horrors,' 'Race Of Hypocrisy,' 'As I Turned Away,' 'Whispers Of Chaos,' 'Strength of the Innocent,' Retaliatory Strike' and 'Frantic.' 11 songs TT: 45:49
